Alexandra C. Lykourgou

Alexandra C. Lykourgou was born in Nicosia in April 1966. She graduated from the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) in European and International Trade Law from the University of Leicester. She is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association. She practiced law in Cyprus from 1992 until 2003 at Tassos Papadopoulos & Associates LLC and Antis Triantafyllides & Sons LLC. During that time, Public Law was her field of expertise, with a special focus on Constitutional and Administrative Law. She served as a District Judge (Cyprus Judicial Service) from December 2003 to February 2017, at which time she was promoted to the post of Senior District Judge.  She resigned in June 2019. In her capacity as a Judge, she presided over both civil and criminal cases, in rotation. Since July 2019, when she set up her own law office in Nicosia, Alexandra C. Lykourgou works as a lawyer. In October 2022 she was appointed, by the Council of Ministers, as the Chairperson of the Parole Committee. In November 2023 she was appointed by the Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus as a Criminal Investigator concerning the activities of officials of the Cyprus Football Association and any other related to them. In November 2023 she was appointed Chairperson of the Human Rights Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association. In January 2024 she was appointed, by the Council of Ministers, as the Chairperson of the Incompatibility Investigation Committee.
